The Model Railway at Mevagissey, built in OO gauge, contains over thirty trains travelling through a wide variety of terrain in their main layout. Including mountains, towns, mines and the seaside, interactive buttons let visitors activate the sounds and lights.
An indoor “Garden” railway brings the excitement of “G” scale modeling indoors to be enjoyed whatever the weather. All trains are controlled by visitors so everyone can be a train driver for the day. Set out as a typical garden railway this will inspire your own creations at home.
Junior Junction, the children’s railway features Thomas the Tank Engine along with his friends to inspire a new generation of modellers. An interactive exhibit this will give the children a chance to get involved with a well known favorite.
Finally there are a constantly changing array of exhibition displays, from a record Breaking Hornby Locomotive to the Orient Express.
Open through the summer from April to October, except Saturdays, with much reduced opening times during winter, this is a wonderful place to visit not just for model rail enthusiasts but the whole family too.
Please note there are no toilet facilities at this venue.
